Of Ink & Honey
Ariel is an artist and beekeeper, creating and working in the Pacific Northwest. Her art is inspired by experiencing the changing seasons through work in the hive and garden. After beginning beekeeping in 2021, she was drawn to printmaking as a form of expression for the feeling of working with bees.
The blockprinting process that Ariel uses begins with a drawing that is then carved into a stamp. That stamp, either in traditional linoleum or soft rubber, is rolled with ink then printed onto paper or fabric.
